Nova Review

20170218_201956West London’s Chiswick High street voted among the best high streets in Britain and top five in the capital in 2015 is home to NOVA restaurant.  Opened in May 2016, NOVA is a vast, warm and welcoming space boasting eclectic yet contemporary designs.  The bar welcomes you on entry with an enviable selection of soothing alcoholic beverages rivaling any London nightclub.  The menu, redesigned only a month ago, by chef Patrick Zilvar offers enough variety to satisfy modern day diet complexities without sending you into a state of superfluous panic.  Now that we have gotten the formalities out of the way let’s talk about the experience.

NOVA was the venue of choice for this month’s installment of mother/daughter date night.  On arrival, we were presented with the first task of the night – where to sit?!  We had a choice of booth style seating, romantic and secluded, low tables and love seats or your classic restaurant style dining.  We decided on a booth just opposite the bar – no judgment please.  Staff were extremely attentive requesting our drink order and presenting us with the menu once we were visibly settled.  The menu had a dish selection that in my opinion, was just right – meat, fish, poultry, vegetarian and even vegan choices.

Mum decided on the Scottish Smoked Salmon with Avocado & Watercress to start and Pan Fried Chicken Breast with Potato Gratin & Sauce Forester with a Side of Mushrooms as her main.  I chose the Hand Dived Scallops with Sweetcorn and Caviar to start and the 10oz Fillet of Beef with Rosemary Potatoes and Garlic Broccoli.  I will keep this extremely simple – the food was outstanding – the presentation, the attention to detail, the subtlety and compliment of flavours, the portions, and quality were all superb. The transitions from starter to mains was perfectly timed.

I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly.  Not only do they offer and amazing evening dining experience, they also have a bar menu, set lunch menus, traditional afternoon tea and get this unlimited champagne afternoon tea served 1400-1800 daily.  Fancy a Sunday roast in plush surroundings AND live music? NOVA offer a traditional carvery EVERY SUNDAY in a non-traditional setting. You thought it couldn’t get any better NOVA have also created an exclusive VEGAN menu. So you see there is something for absolutely everyone.
