Onin.London Take On Hidden City’s 007 Shadow of Spectre

Having previously completed  HiddenCity’s Hunt For The Cheshire Cat, I was excited to experience their latest experience, 007 Shadow of Spectre.

The new game set within the exhilarating world of James Bond, allows teams of two to six players to immerse themselves into the life of a secret agent. Go undercover and begin the quest in a secret central London location, before embarking on a three-hour interactive treasure hunt-style experience.

Our team of 4 had a blast interacting with characters such as Moneypennny and Q branch via text message and phone call, from the Bond universe via phone and solving real-life puzzles in a bid to save the capital.

It is important to follow 007’s trail exactly and solve the clues sent to the assigned phone chosen by players to stay on track. We did find the scoring on the day a little problematic as it said there were times we’d entered the answer incorrectly 10 times when we know we only did it once or twice. Some margin for missed spelled words would also be helpful especially given the annoyance of autocorrect when it comes to texting.

Apart from the cool storyline which had us immersed from start to finish, the technology and locations were amazing. Even though we were in the heart of Central London we saw places that we’d never seen before. Some of us who have lived in London had no idea about some of the architecture that was there. It was beautiful. Getting to stop in some of the local pubs off the beaten track and away from the tourist areas was also a highlight.

We completed the game and received a token of appreciation from James Bond. The consensus was though it should have been a Martini Shaken Not Stirred (Haha).

The game will run every day, with sessions between 12:30pm – 6:30pm Monday to Saturday, and 12:30pm – 4:30pm on Sundays. The age recommendation for this game is 10+, with under 10s going free. Players under 18 must be supervised by adults.

So, get your spy gear on and prepare to deep dive into the world of bond – good luck out there in the field! We had a blast and we bet you will too.

Tickets are on sale now, priced at £30 per person here.
