Wednesday 11th February 2015, London – Hundreds of protesters gathered in London’s financial district today to call for a clean-up of the banking system and an end to hidden bank fees.

The demonstrators, wearing bathrobes, drove engine-powered bathtubs around Bank and blew millions of bubbles over London’s skyline. The protest calls on financiers to stop misleading consumers with sneaky fees. 6,000 blue rubber ducks were scattered across the City to mark the occasion.

The protest led by TransferWise, an international money transfer start-up, its customers and staff, is backed by Sir Richard Branson. The company campaigns for transparency in the foreign exchange. It uses peer-to-peer technology to cut out fees hidden in the exchange rate when you send money abroad.
