Amongst the constant juggle of new parent life, 96% of those with children under 5 say if they could have one evening together per month it would improve their overall happiness levels, NEW research from nappy brand Rascals has revealed.
Rascals, premium maker of super absorbent nappies, is lending a helping hand by offering free 50 date nights to UK parents, designed to give something they rarely get – time off, properly handled, at a time where getting quality 1-1 time can be tricky. 93% of UK parents saying they rarely get out with their partner (or they manage around half the amount they used to or less).
Rascals, known for its high-performance nappies (designed to last for 12 hours – much longer than a dinner out!), is addressing parents wishes head-on by combining product reassurance with practical support for when life gets real, ensuring parents can step out with confidence, knowing their little one is comfortable at home.
The brand conducted a nationwide study (in April 2026) of 1,000 parents to source the real thoughts and feelings of new parents. Findings from the new study highlighted:
- More than 6 in 10 parents (62%) said that when leaving their baby or toddler with a babysitter, knowing they’re in a reliable nappy is essential and it’s one of the first things they sort before leaving.
- 22% of parents in the UK don’t have the ability to rely on babysitting from local family members, with 33% surprised at how much they rely on others.
- The cost of childcare (or not having local childcare available) is the biggest reason that parents are not going on date nights (43%). Worry about how children will cope and whether they’ll be comfortable’ is the next biggest reason listed.
Each free Date Night Package is valued at more than £100, reinforcing Rascals’ firm commitment to delivering meaningful, hands-on support to parents, not just through products, but through real-life solutions. The 50 recipients will enjoy:
- A delivery of Rascals premium nappies to see little ones through the evening with super absorbency.
- £60 credit for free babysitting through trusted nationwide service, Bubble.
- A voucher (up to £35) towards a meal, cinema trip or Flight Club.
Will Harvey, Director of Marketing at Rascals (and dad of two), said:
“No one really prepares you for how hard it is to get time together once you’ve got young kids, and date nights are the first thing that goes. We make a nappy that holds for 12 hours, so the least we can do is help parents actually use those 12 hours for something other than laundry. When you become a parent, life gets real, really fast, so we hope this small gesture offers some respite to what is both a magical and chaotic time”.
Date Night Sponsor applications are available via Rascals Facebook page (www.facebook.com/rascalsbabyuk) where parents can enter their details to be in with a chance to win. T&Cs apply**.
