Retro Inspired Afternoon Tea at the K West Hotel

Recently I had the pleasure of visiting the K West Hotel & Spa and indulging in their retro inspired Afternoon Tea. If you’re a lover of Afternoon tea, this special dinning experience will definitely grab your attention and bring out the inner child in you. The afternoon tea plays tribute to the venue’s rich musical heritage, an interesting fact I learnt on the day. The Key West Hotel & Spa was formerly known as a music studio, used by the legendary David Bowie and The Kinks.

The innovative Afternoon Tea menu has a unique twist on the famous British traditional Afternoon tea. I honestly had never seen such a cute and creative afternoon tea set up, the delicious savoury and sweet food set out on top of a vintage record that looked like it would play music while you ate. There is also an extensive list of loose leaf, herbal infusion teas along with coffee and hot chocolate on offer. However if you’re after something a little more special, the hotel also offers a menu listing a range of cocktails and procesco.

The afternoon tea starts off with a great savoury selection which includes Beetroot infused devilled eggs filled with coronation chicken; mini halloumi sliders with sun-dried tomato & guacamole; and a mini prawn cocktail spiked with Jack Daniel’s Whiskey.

The sweet selection that follows includes delights such as berry trifle with vanilla cream, custard & berry compote; and a marzipan & plum bonbon coated with dark chocolate.

Guests can then enjoy the apricot and ginger scones served with clotted cream and strawberry jam at the end.

The afternoon tea is available from 2pm – 5pm, from Monday to Sunday, priced at £28.50 per person. If on the day any afternoon tea goer wants to go Big, they can opt for the Retro Prosecco Afternoon Tea priced at £36.00 or the Retro Champagne Afternoon Tea for £41.00.
