Review: Bonobo Outlier Festival

My housemates hit the nail on the head with a statement last week:

“If I could I’d let Bonobo curate every day!”

Then just looked in a loving haze.

That pretty much summed up the awesomeness of last weekend.

We arrived at Tobacco Dock at about 2pm, fresh faced and ready for action. The only downside of the whole day was having to decide how much money to put on a card at the start for the money ‘oyster’ payment system. Good job we got there early as the queue became insane!

Anywho, we danced literally all day. There were three rooms: The Great Gallery, Little Gallery and Car Park. Each had the most awesome array of music.

We jumped from room to room. One minute listening to Giles Peterson…

Next George Fitzgerald….

An even Bonobo himself.

But for us the highlight was the dark carpark underground. It was like all night industrial party…….at 3pm. Such an awesome vibe, and also showcased the likes of Alex Smoke and Special Request.

We must have danced for 9 hours straight, and it was bloody awesome to really let our hair down! Plus the music really kept us dancing. Living with some techno/electronic/D&B boff’s has turned me into a bit of a music nerd! In the sense we can’t stand bad electronic now. But all the music here was absolutely cracking.

Overall it gave us a taste of the summer. A glimmer of what warmer weather and longer days will bring. And we are so hungry for more.

😀
