Review: Tony Law Frillemorphesis Tour

Last night my friend and I attended the brand new stand-up art show from the multi award-winning Tony Law at the Leicester Square Theatre. Having grown up attending the Adelaide Fringe where the best of the best comedians perform, I was excited to see some live comedy here in London. I had no idea who Tony Law was before entering the building and what little I had read about the show was that we were to ‘experience his frillemorphesis as he explodes into the future absurdly’.

Absurd is the word I would describe the show and I was confused the whole way through. The audience none-the-less loved the show. Laughter was coming from all over the theatre. One guy sitting next me even sounded like he was about to have an asthma attack, due a joke I must have missed.

I give Tony Law an applause for his avid performance and energy on stage. The man did not slow down or seem to pause for breath throughout the night. This must have been hard given the heavy cloak and horse mask he wore for the majority of the show. It didn’t even impact on his exuberance on stage, which continued to entertain the audience.

After a final gig in London on the 6th of February, Tony Law begins his tour throughout the UK. So if Tony Law is your type of comedian you have until the end of March to see his live show.
