As Rumpus turns a whopping five years old, the guys are throwing a birthday party to remember. For the past half decade they’ve been partying hard everywhere from German pirate ships to the enchanted forests of rural England to the sky slopes of Slovenia, selling out our events across London and all over Europe. And how better to celebrate than with a big old blow out bonanza party!

Rumpus is renowned for taking the atmosphere and variety of some of the best festivals in the world and cramming it all into one night in one London venue. With seven rooms of ground-shaking live bands, dancefloor dynamite DJs, live circus performers, killer cabaret, interactive installations, and the most creatively-dressed and fun-loving crowd imaginable, every Rumpus is the best night out you’ve ever had…until the next one!

For their fifth birthday bonanza they’ve got the wondrous sounds of 10-piece world funk-fusion K.O.G. & The Zongo Brigade, and atomically raucous punk, dub and ska from The Stiff Joints and Popes of Chilltown keeping the main stage skanking all night long. Then stumble back in time into The Travelling Tavern where you’ll find the blues, swing, and long lost shanties of yesteryear from Ma Polaine’s Great Decline, Whiskey Moon Face, Mojo Hand and Jouis. Take a nostalgic dip in our giant ball pool on your way to the Happy Slap Boutique who lower the tone and raise the roof with their twisted cabaret and immersive dancefloor antics.

And of course all roads lead to the Courtyard; a bustling marketplace with face-painters, tail-mongers and all manner or creaturely accessories to bring out your inner beast. And since it’s their birthday they’ve brought in the superb spectacle of Burnt Post; an interactive theatrical absurdist collective there to take care of all your communicational needs – and quite a few you didn’t know you had. Send a lust letter, dictate a telegram, apply for a license for any imaginable or unimaginable activity, or simply stand at the sidelines and watch as the chaos of Burnt Post’s hedonistic bureaucracy unfolds.

The winding maze of the Metal Works combined with all the weirdness and wonder of Rumpus means that each of their 1000 guests leave having had an entirely unique experience, and always wanting more. So reach for the glitter and get lost in the most surreally spectacular fifth birthday party you’ll ever see…see you on the dancefloor!
