Shrek Adventure at the Southbank

Everyone is a fan of Shrek, the only question is deciding which film is your favourite. The smash hit DreamWorks classic is now available to fully immerse yourself in as an interactive adventure based in London’s South Bank, just moments from Waterloo station and the London Eye.

In Shrek’s Adventure, enthusiastic actors bring classic characters to life as you are whisked through the tardis-like venue and before you know it, you’re singing along and fully participating in the fun. We really enjoyed the way in which special effects were used to enhance the experience. Shrek, Puss in Boots and the gingerbread man all followed us along our ‘journey’ much to the amazement of the children.

Our favourite part of the adventure had to be the 4d bus experience. It completely surpassed our expectations, leaving us excited for everything that followed. The ride was fast paced and a tad scary at times, which set the scene for things to come. There were some younger children who found some of the adventure frightening. Although it’s a family day out, it does contain a few surprises and dark environments which can scare smaller infants.

The walk and ride experience lasts for around an hour and a half. Afterwards there are plenty of photo opportunities prior to reaching the souvenir shop. we would recommend you book your tickets in advance as entry is in timetabled slots. When we arrived and collected our pre-booked tickets, the next available time for those buying on the door was for two hours later, which could be a cause of much frustration to a family group on a day out.
