Sixes Review
If you told me I’d have a blast at a restaurant designed all about Cricket and included Cricket batting cages, I probably would have thought you were crazy. Way too many memories of Christmases as a child getting hit in the face with a cricket bat or ball by my brothers. An Aussie tradition right?
But despite this past trauma, fun is exactly what I had when I visited Sixes and I can not wait to go back. In fact I haven’t stopped talking about it and recommending it to anyone that will listen.
The social venue allows visitors to eat, drink, and bat in state-of-the-art batting nets available to hire by the hour to test their cricket skills with friends and family.
Sixes is located in Fitzrovia and Fulham and is the only venue in London to provide cricket simulators with exceptional dining and hospitality. Styled as batting nets, the Sixes Cricket Simulator is the ultimate immersive experience, taking the style of Top Golf, Flight Club and Puttshack to new, refined heights in the world of the quintessential English sport. My friend and I absolutely loved it, though she was 100 percent better at it than me! I blame my dodgy shoulder as the reason why I lost.
The cocktails we had whilst batting were absolutely delicious. Refreshing and fancy all at once, sometimes not a combo that every bar can get right. We visited in July so since then, the menu has changed but their new Great British BBQ menu includes low and slow chicken wings, house smoked sausages you can order by the half metre, overnight coals sweet potato, next level vegan burger, whisky glazed short rib, bubble and squeak pakoras, mac&cheese croquettes, smoked chicken Caesar salad and the signature Sixes meat volcano.
My friend did have the Chicken Caesar salad on the day and I had an enormous steak… with an even bigger side of bone marrow. It was seriously huge. For dessert we shared the classic Eton mess. It was mouthwateringly good.
