Strand Palace Hotel Reopens

Strand Palace, one of the nation’s most iconic hotels reopened its doors to the public on the 7th of July – just in time for the height of the summer season. Situated in the heart of London, the hotel’s unrivalled location makes it the perfect setting to rediscover the capital city and take advantage of some of the world-famous sights and attractions on its doorstep.

Ahead of reopening, the hotel announced its new cleanliness program, a clear system put in place with best practices and protocols. The new program has been developed over the last few months and has already been put into action during the lockdown period as the hotel remained partially open to house key workers, working tirelessly in the fight against COVID-19.

These rigorous new processes have been designed to give guests complete peace of mind, so they can enjoy their stay and focus on rediscovering the excitement and vigor of the heart of London as safely as possible. The preventative measures being put in place to manage the risk of the spread of Covid-19 include; refiguration of public areas to maintain a 2-meter distance between guests and staff; sanitizing gel will be provided throughout the hotel; contactless payments; one way system of entering and exiting the hotel; installation of screens at reception to reduce contact; increased cleaning and sanitation throughout the hotel; adoption of flexible
housekeeping as per guest’s preference.

The hotel will be offering its new ‘Strandaroo’ service, enhanced in-room dining choices that will be prepared in special food packages for those guests who prefer to enjoy their food from the comfort of their own rooms. Guests will be able to avail of an all-day dining menu in Haxells Restaurant & Bar as well as the hotel’s delectable Afternoon Tea. An à la carte breakfast menu will be available, as well as an on-the-go breakfast option which can
be picked up or delivered directly to the room. Strand Palace is a landmark within itself, being part of the London landscape for over 111 years. The hotel has just undergone a spectacular transformation, with its multimillion-pound refurbishment being completed in May 2020. The overhaul saw all 785 bedrooms, public areas, restaurant and bar refurbished with a modern art-deco inspired interior design.

The hotel’s central location gives guests the freedom to access some of the UK’s best landmarks by foot and the option to avoid crowded public transport and maintain social distancing measures. St. Paul’s Cathedral, Trafalgar Square, and the London Eye are all just a stone through away. Covent Garden, one of the UK’s premiere shopping destinations is also on the hotel’s doorstep. The lively shopping district is home to some of the city’s best shops, galleries, museums, and pubs – many of which have already reopened restoring a sense of normality and vibrancy to the area.
The hotel’s staff have all undergone mandatory hygiene training to ensure the highest standards are maintained at all times throughout the hotel. A contingency plan that is aligned with the government’s guidelines and regulations has been put in place and is reviewed regularly.
