Suchef

The most healthiest and nutritious outdoor lunch that I’ve (shamefully) had in a long while.

A summer stroll through the gorgeous area of St. Paul’s led into a short walk to the one-week-old new eating experience that is Suchef. The little by-line below the sign read ‘sealed in flavour’ which excited me even more to try out the cuisine, inspired by a range of countries worldwide.

I’m open to various eating experiences, but had never tried sous-vide food; so I headed to YouTube whilst researching. I became fascinated at how carefully prepared the chefs prepare the food. At Suchef, the food is vacuum packed before being cooked. The food such as meat, fish and veg is usually cooked in a low temperature controlled water bath. This not only makes the food healthier but actually tastier too. I agree!

My guest and I were welcomed in with lovely smiles by the workers handing out free snacks for passers-by at the entrance. We were also talked through the menu by the workers behind the till of how meals can be ordered and what they come with.

I ordered the Thai green chicken curry which came with rice and mushrooms. I also had side orders of fresh pasta, mixed baby leaf, an amazing mango salad, and a delicious raspberry cheesecake with pressed orange juice.

Each bite was heavenly! I could feel the healthily made ingredients agreeing very well with my body. There were balances of everything; good intake of protein, fibre, iron, and carbohydrates. I also had a read of some books that were on display, offering advice as to how we should always be looking after our bodies. After this gorgeous meal, I felt so great about discovering new ways to look after my health, through a newly discovered cooking technique that I had only just heard of.

The staff at Suchef were incredibly friendly, smiley, kind, advisable, and hardworking! Many city workers (like myself) hardly have time to prepare healthy meals for lunch breaks, so they usually end up binging on fast meals. The opening of Suchef is a great opportunity for city workers to change their diet plan, especially with the cleverly and easily contained (and recyclable) containers and cutlery to comfortably carry around and eat from during their lunch breaks.

Suchef caters to everyone; vegans, vegetarians, and meat eaters like myself. Not only was the food an enjoyable and happy experience, but it was also a reminder for myself that I only have one body, and what I put in it will determine the outcome of my overall health! Eat well. Always. Suchef: 10/10.
