The Green Parlour Launches “England by the Glass”

A New Evening Drinks Experience at The Royal Horseguards Hotel

As London moves from day into evening, The Green Parlour at The Royal Horseguards Hotel enters a new chapter. Already established as a serene daytime escape for breakfast and Afternoon Tea, the botanical lounge now invites guests to experience England by the Glass – a considered drinks menu that captures the landscapes, flavours and quiet character of the country after dark.

Rooted in a sense of place, the new menu is designed as a gentle journey across England. From chalk cliffs and coastal air to orchards, meadows and historic estates, each drink reflects the land it comes from. The result is a collection that feels both grounded and transportive and an unhurried exploration of English terroir, best enjoyed in good company.

At the heart of the offering is a carefully curated selection of English wines and sparkling expressions. Standouts include the Henners Brut from East Sussex, founded by a former RAF pilot and using Burgundian winemaking techniques. From Cornwall, Knightor Carpe Diem proves the county’s case for elegant, aromatic whites, while Bolney Estate Pinot Gris holds the distinction of being the first English wine served at Wimbledon, in 2015.

Alongside the wines, a cocktail list inspired by London’s green spaces and surrounding counties brings a more playful expression of the theme. Serves such as The Green Park Gimlet and The Hyde Herb Garden layer botanicals, citrus and subtle sweetness, while The Kensington Blossom introduces floral notes and delicate balance. Each drink is designed to echo the gardens and landscapes that inspired The Green Parlour itself — measured, bright and quietly expressive.

A broader spirits list further anchors the menu in England’s evolving drinks landscape, spotlighting craft distilleries across the country. Black Cow Strawberry Vodka from Dorset, made entirely from milk whey and considered a world first; Burnt Faith Brandy, London’s first brandy distillery using English wine; and The Lakes Whiskymaker’s Reserve from a distillery set within a UNESCO World Heritage site in Cumbria.

As day turns to night, The Green Parlour’s atmosphere shifts with it. What begins as a light-filled, garden-inspired lounge becomes something softer and more intimate — a space for evening drinks that feel both refined and relaxed. The evening menu also includes a curated selection of small plates served daily from 6pm to 9:30pm  including oak smoked salmon on rye with avruga caviar , garlic prawns with toasted ciabatta, and a British cheese selection with chutney, grapes and crackers

For those opting for a non-alcoholic experience, the menu continues with a thoughtful selection of mocktails and zero-proof spirits. Drinks like Richmond Wildflower and Greenwich Garden Time bring together florals, fruit and botanical depth, ensuring the same sense of occasion without compromise.

Reservations are now open for evening drinks.
