Thursday Lates At The O2

I’m a sucker for a sunset and here’s an exhilarating date idea that’s suspended 52 metres above ground level, it’ll no doubt up your attraction points and involves climbing a World famous attraction.

The O2 Arena have launched a cosy ‘Thursday Late’s’ event series which takes place every Thursday from 20 May until 17 June inclusive, those who book a 7:00pm, 7:30pm or 8:00pmclimb will kick-start their weekend in style with extended time on the roof of The O2. Combined with an unforgettable outdoor climb, visitors to the ‘Thursday Lates’ will enjoy a live acoustic performance at the summit, for the perfect chilled-out evening vibe. The climb up takes approximately 20 minutes and those who climb are greeted at the top by breath-taking sunset views of London’s skyline whilst sipping on mocktails (and there’s an option for a champagne upgrade available at an additional cost, another opportunity to up those attraction points!)

Our post goldfish bowl, lockdown lifestyle, is finally underway and so The o2 have installed a brand new photo opportunity station for climbers to enjoy at North Camp.

I was introduced to the enthusiastic Dan Hurst, Head of Attractions who explained to me about the newly enhanced health and safety measures implemented last year. Each climb operates at a reduced capacity in line with social distancing guidelines, which provides visitors with a more intimate and memorable experience than ever before and making it the perfect outdoor experience to enjoy with friends and family this year.
Dan Hurst, Head of Attractions – Up at The O2 said: “We’re really excited to welcome visitors back to Up at The O2 as one of the first London attractions to re-open its doors, and to announce the launch of our brand new ‘Thursday Lates’. These events will bring music back to The O2 and provide visitors with a unique and unforgettable experience. We’re still maintaining the rigorous health and safety measures that were implemented last year and are fortunate as an outdoor attraction that we can continue to offer a safe, socially distanced but also exciting and memorable experience for visitors.”

Tickets for the ‘Thursday Lates’ are available to purchase now at http://www.theo2.co.uk/upattheo2, with prices from £37 per person. This event is for those aged 18 and over, and advance bookings are strongly recommended.
The O2 arena is a destination worth exploring since it opened on January 1st 2000 (surviving the Millennium Bug, phew) it’s seen many improvements since its original purpose. It isn’t just a World famous music venue. Before your climb be sure to take a peek under the canopy and enjoy everything else the destination has to offer. Did you know the O2 isn’t now has over 30 bars and restaurants to outlet shopping at Icon Outlet. With over 60 superstar fashion and lifestyle brands including adidas, Calvin Klein, Hugo BOSS, Levis, Nike, The Cosmetics Company Store, and Tommy Hilfiger always offering up to 70% off RRP, it’s the perfect place to treat yourself ahead of your climb.
