Ukai Review

Ukai, the stunning sushi restaurant located on Nottinghill’s Portabello Road was delightful place to spend an evening. Chef Alex, the Roka and Nobu trained Head Chef ensured we were looked after during our stay. Even ensuring he recommended some of his favourite dishes.

The venue itself is cosy and intimate, so definitely the perfect date night location. What’s more welcoming than a restaurant with gorgeous fireplaces that just invite you in out of the cold?

The food itself is a mix of Japanese fusion and I’m at a loss for words to describe how fabulous the menu is. Given this, I’ll keep it short and sweet! Our favourite dishes were the Pork belly, cabbage, spicy mayo Bao Bun, Wagu Beef Gzoyos, Mixed Tempura (vegetable and prawns) and the Dragon Sushi Rolls. Each dish was full of flavour and had us more excited for the next dish that would come to our table.

Don’t forget to end your meal with dessert! We recommend The Mochi Balls (mango, coconut and Macha) and the Yuzu cheesecake. You won’t be disappointed.
