Ministry of Waxing Review

salon-1One of the things I like to get done before I jet off on holiday is to get a wax, I like to get a leg wax and a Brazilian done, I had a leg wax the week before and was heading on over to Ministry of Waxing to get a Brazilian done.

I was greeted to a smiling face at reception, which was shortly followed by going upstairs to a room for my wax. The salon has two parts to it the Browhaus, which is on the same floor as reception catering to your eyebrow and eyelash needs and upstairs which offers waxing and hair removal, catering to removing any unwanted hair. Ministry of Waxing create their own exclusive and unique wax blends – rigorously tried and tested by Founder & CEO Cynthia Chua herself for a smooth and painless ride. Which us ladies know can be extremely important, I’m not sure there are many women out there that are thrilled with the pain that comes with waxing.

I was instantly relaxed by the lady doing my wax, Kanada, who after five minutes, I felt comfortable to have a laugh and a giggle, despite being half naked. I cant say it was pain free (I mean what wax is…) but it certainly didn’t feel as painful as some of the waxes I’ve had in the past, so a big tick on that part and I didn’t feel sore afterwards. They also offer a wax kit in the room, which contains a wipe, which I found to be a great idea, keeping you clean and refreshed.

After my treatment I went to The Wanted Man for brunch, where you are greeted with a wild west themed decor, which instantly caught my attention. It’s certainly the type of place you would go to enjoy a coffee and start instagramming the hell out of your coffee and food. Coffee lovers will be happy to know, the artisan coffee is flown in from Common Man Coffee Roasters, the Singapore-based speciality coffee roasters borne out of Five Senses Coffee of Melbourne.

food-1For brunch I had the ‘A wanted man breakfast’ salmon and scrambled eggs on toast, along with avocado, potatoes and greens, along with a delicious ‘green velvet’ smoothie, which contained pear, apple, spinach and kale, which definitely gave me a boost of energy, the perfect thing to start off your day!

Not only was my food presented in a beautiful way, but it tasted incredible as well. Yes  the salmon and scrambled eggs is always a winning combination, but it was the salad that got my attention, underneath the bed of leaves were potatoes and greens, with a tangy sauce, it was so good I was tempted to ask the chef what his secret recipe was. Needless to say this is one of the best brunches I’ve had in London, and that’s saying a lot as I get around the food scene quite a bit!
