Review: Ginger Martini Camden
Prior to Thursday the 25th of February, I had never ventured further than the Camden Odeon Cinemas in Camden. I also hadn’t head of Gilgamesh, let alone its former tea house now bar Ginger Martini. This could be one of the reasons why Ginger Martini at Gilgamesh opened up their doors for their first networking event. To give new and past customers a chance to come visit this gorgeous cocktail bar which opened in October 2015.
Arriving at the entrance of Gilgamesh and being transported to the main reception are by escalators, guests can already get a sense of the opulence that awaits them inside. We were shown into the Ginger Martini Bar and seated at one of the comfy lounges in the venue. The bar overlooks the Camden Lock Markets and the view took our breaths away. The bar presents a very relaxed vibe which enabled my friend and I to chat away happily while we waited for our drinks to arrive. We happily indulged ourselves with the Zentini cocktails. (Vodka shaken together with home-made ginger syrup, a hint of mint & apple juice). These are Ginger Martini’s signature cocktails and it’s not hard to see why. They are an absolute delight. The ginger wasn’t too overpowering and the mint mixed with the apple juice was a very pleasant combination.
The networking event also allowed my friend and me to taste some of the canapes at Ginger Martini which takes inspiration from Gilgamesh’s Pan-Asian menu. With fresh sushi, tempura prawns and these delicious beef creations that I was too busy drooling over to catch the name of, my friend and I were in heaven. The chefs in the kitchen have created a delicious menu of Sashimi/Nigiri platters or Maki Rolls that can be sampled while enjoying their extensive cocktail menu.
Ginger Martini is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The venue can cater for small groups up to 10 in a booth or private parties of up to 120 people (which could be perfect if you want to start planning this year’s Christmas do nice and early). You won’t regret spending your time in Ginger Martini’s luxurious and glamourous, yet still relaxed bar in one of the hippest parts of London.
