MARTIN MILLER’S GIN TAKEOVER AT MICHELIN-STARRED TEXTURE RESTAURANT REVIEW.

Martin Miller’s Gin was one of the first Gins I had the pleasure of trying when I first started writing for OnIn.London and it’s remained a favourite. So it was lovely to be invited to the press launch to celebrate their partnership with Scandinavian restaurant, Texture.

Floral design expert, Fabienne Egger has created a multi-sensory, immersive installation in the restaurant’s private dining room, designed to transport diners to the wild Icelandic countryside.

The room as you can see is exceptionally gorgeous with its Icelandic ‘textures’ including volcanic rock, flowers, faux fur, Icelandic moss and birch, with a wood and moss table centrepiece infused with botanical spray to complete the multi-sensory experience. We had really wandered into an Icelandic wonderland as soon as we entered the room. It was beautiful.

What is the experience? Well it’s an exclusive four-course tasting menu of delicious Icelandic-inspired fare, created by Michelin-starred Head Chef Agnar Sverrisson. Each dish has been paired with a Martin Miller’s Gin cocktail, to demonstrate the breadth of flavour and versatility within the Martin’s Miller’s Gin range.

The four-course menu, priced at £130pp, is available for bookings of eight to 14 people and includes:

  • Appetiser, paired with Martin Miller’s Gin perfect serve
  • Icelandic salmon, paired with a refreshing dill-infused Martin Miller’s Gin cocktail
  • Icelandic lamb (or in my case Icelandic Cod) paired with a mellow, medium dry, Westbourne Martini
  • Coconut trio, paired with a sweet, short cocktail made with Martin Miller’s 9 Moons

The food was absolutely phenomenal and my friend and I ate everything on our plates while we enjoyed scintillating conversation from the team behind Martin Miller’s Gin. The cocktails paired perfectly with each course and it is difficult to say what my favourite cocktail was. Any other day I would have said the welcome Gin & Tonic but it was the martini that really had me intrigued and going back for more.

The installation and menu launches in October to celebrate the London Restaurant Festival and runs until 31st October. Though given Christmas is on its way, Martin Millers will spread Christmas cheer until 21st December 2019 as the installation will be updated in November with festive touches to truly showcase the holiday season.

This is a takeover that is not to be missed! So go on treat yourself and have one of the best meals you’ll ever have in your life!
