PROUD present the first cabaret adaptation of the classic musical film, Dirty Dancing.
Dirty Dancing and the whirlwind love story between the rebellious Johnny Castle and the bookish Daddy’s girl, Baby, has captivated audiences since its release in 1987. Baby, on holiday with her affluent family at a US summer resort in the 60s, is seduced into an underground world of music, sex and dirty dancing.
Proud’s creatives have achieved what no other production company has attempted, adding a stunning twist to the cult classic, in the form of cabaret. The iconic Catskills is reimagined with world-renowned cabaret artists – feisty fire breathers, daring dancers and astounding aerialists. The all new show, DirtyDancer, reconceptualises what dirty dancing means with raunchier, more risqué dance routines as an exceptional cast seamlessly transition between the sexy stylings of samba, mambo and ballroom. Proud have also skilfully adapted the music to include 80s hits that will have audiences up on their feet moving to the groove of the Dirty Dancer cast.
