Drambuie launches The Navigator

Drambuie at The Athenaeum(6)

Good news for all you seasoned cocktail drinkers out there who are looking for your latest boozy concoction. Drambuie is collaborating with the bar at The Athenaeum Hotel and Residences in Mayfair to launch ‘The Navigator’ cocktail, composed of 45ml Drambuie 15 Year Old, 30ml Rinomato Aperitivo and topped with East Imperial soda water.

Crafted by Italian bar and beverage consultant Giancarlo Mancino, whose claim to fame was his co-creation of the orange bitter Rinomato aperitivo in 2015, this latest cocktail boasts complex fragrances and flavours. Which inludes warming malty notes, berries, heather and hints of lemongrass from the Drambuie, and rich aromas of orange peel, vanilla, gentian root and cinchona bark from the Aperitivo, expertly combined in a high ball glass and garnished with a grapefruit twist.

Commenting on the collaboration, mixologist Giancarlo Mancino said: “I took my inspiration for ‘The Navigator’ recipe from the Scots Gaelic phrase which influenced the naming of Drambuie; ‘An Dram Buidheach’, meaning ‘The Drink That Satisfies’, and there is no doubt ‘The Navigator’ does EXACTLY this.

If you want to try this delectable, truly international cocktail, visit the bar at The Athenaeum Hotel and Residencies, where you will be able to order one for £15 until the end of 2017.
