The Duppy Share Rum Review
We’ve been seeing The Duppy Share pop up at all the coolest venues throughout London this year and every time we’ve tried it, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed it.The first time we tried this delicious rum was at Rum Fest UK 2017 and since then we knew we had to share it with ONIN.London readers.
The Duppy Share is a unique blend of premium rums from the Worthy Park Estate in Jamaica and the prestigious Foursquare Distillery in Barbados. The contrasting flavours of a fiery 3-year old, Pot Distilled Jamaican rum and a smooth 5-year old Barbadian rum makes The Duppy Share the perfect ingredient in punch and other rum cocktails.
We love the story behind The Duppy Share. Duppies are dark Caribbean spirits or ghosts, originating from Jamaica who have a special love of rum. We’ve all heard of The Angel’s Share, where when a spirit ages in barrels, a certain amount is lost through evaporation over the years. Well the Angel’s love their scotch whisky, however, The Duppy’s love their rum. Caribbean legend has it that the dark Duppy spirits swoop between the islands stealing the best share of the rum.Therefore, this rum is The Duppy Share.
My sister describes the bottle as one that makes her want to escape to an exotic island and that is what it reminds me of. A long lost Caribbean island surrounded by palm trees and where rum magically washes up on the sure. 
In tasting The Duppy Share, the tropical flavours are prominent. This was the rum that converted me to dark spirits. It’s sweet and smooth, with a buttery finish which is just beautiful. You’ll be just like ‘Jack Sparrow’ asking ‘why is the rum gone?’ because this rum is utterly decadent – the bottle will be empty before you know it.
Our favourite Duppy Share serve is the Punch & Ginger. Forget winter punches, this will bring back summer in even the deepest or darkest winters. It serves 15 but can be tailored for however many guests you have (even just for two if that’s all there is).

Ingredients
- The Duppy Share 700ml
- Pineapple Juice 1L
- Fever Tree Ginger Beer 1L
- Limes
Method
Mix the rum, pineapple juice and ginger beer together
Serve over lots of ice and finish with a squeeze of lime
