GRAB every day Thai food, conceived by a husband and wife team living in London, is a testament to good service and quality food. My recent visit to the Monument Branch – that opened its doors to the public on 13 July 2015 was an experience that warmed my soul. The service, ambiance and more importantly the food was delivered with impeccable high standards – many could learn from this modest establishment.

The restaurant situated on Lovat Lane is a stones throw from Monument station, opens its doors at 07.30 until 15.30 serving a filling and wholesome breakfast and lunch menu. I arrived around 2pm – the tail end of the lunch time rush, where I was welcomed by Store Manager Joe. Although the restaurant has a strong emphasis on take-away it does have the capacity to seat approx 40 people.

The menu is simple offering the chance to sample something new, like the breakfast congee – gluten free savoury porridge made from rice and topped with fresh coriander, sliced ginger, chopped spring onion, a dash of pepper and garlic with your choice of meat, a dish I absolutely loved but may cause a few wrinkled noses from food texture phobes – and classics like Green Curry Chicken, Massaman Curry Chicken and Pad Thai.

I sampled all of these classic dishes during my visit – with the addition of the Pepper & Garlic Beef and rich, nutty and earthy dish, and am very glad I did. The assortment of colour, the flavours that resonate throughout every dish are a marker of the quality of the ingredients, the time, effort and love that goes into the preparation of each. Thai is by far my favourite cuisine from around the world and GRAB is REAL Thai food fast. Generous portions, awesome presentation and great value for money. A real triple threat.
