Lab Organic – Cleansing Juice Bar

Upon entering LabOrganic I thought we were visiting a juice bar, however what lies inside is so much more, it’s a food revolution.

Husband and wife duo Sofia and George decided in the light of the difficulties Sophia’s celiac brother faced from birth, and Sophia’s own trouble with food intolerances, they would give birth to a new form of eating.

Everything is dairy free, gluten free, raw (except the grains) and the only sugar contained is in the fruit and veg. So ultimately its crazy healthy. As for the juices, even they are healthier than juice you would buy in the supermarket. They are cold pressed to preserve all nutrients.

When you first enter the store it even SMELLS healthy. Everything is white, however they manage to balance the decor perfectly to give a calming not clinical feel.

We got to try an array of their goodies. The juices were all totally unique, from the zingy Glow Juice (carrot, grapefruit, orange, pineapple, lemon, turmeric) to the earthy Alkalizing Juice (with pear, cucumber, spinach, romaine, swiss chard, celery broccoli, parsley, lime). They really played games with your palate!

We also tasted their smoothies (the raw cocoa one was lush!) and a variety of their raw foods.

Midweek lunchtime sees the team turn into busy bees, with the residents of Covent Garden looking for their health boost. The guys serve breakfast delights consisting of nut butters, seeds and fruity concoctions. The counters are adorned with beautiful green salads and a variety of grains. The weekend is more chilled, with a smaller menu available but still just as yummy!

There is even a ‘cleansing juice’ program on offer which I have to say I wouldn’t be able to attempt (my chocolate and bread cravings have me in a headlock!). However from past clients the duo have recorded decreased hunger, higher energy levels and generally feeling blimin’ great!

Not contented to remain cooped up in store the team have branched into healthy living events. Their next stop is the L’Oreal store opening where they will be setting up a free juice stall to promote well-being of body and mind along with hair connoisseurs Aveda.

Sofia shared with us their heartfelt passion behind their business and said: “We just want to teach people to take more notice of what they put into their bodies, in both where it’s from and what it is. We have a great client base, and actually make good friends with most of them! But the bigger goal is to help people understand more about food, wherever they decide to buy it from”

Business minded, modest and driven; the dazzling duo have their sights set on another opening in the future. But keep your eyes peeled for lab organic events and new products, the store is constantly evolving…..
