MADE-FOR-MIXING MASTERS MONKEY SHOULDER RELEASES ‘FRESH MONKEY’, A NEW BLENDED GRAIN SPIRIT THAT’LL FRESHEN UP YOUR COCKTAIL GAME

Monkey Shoulder, the made-for-mixing whisky, recently launched a new spirit, Fresh Monkey. A world first for the brand, Fresh Monkey is a Blended Grain Spirit – a unique mix of three new make spirits – two grain spirits and one Speyside malt spirit – which have been blended together unaged, fresh off the still, and specifically selected to deliver a fresh and balanced flavour.

Onin.London we’re lucky enough to attend both he launch and be sent a bottle to review. The launch allowed us to try a variety of different cocktails with our favourite being the Pina Colada and the Missionary Upfall.

The evening was a fun night and showed the creative side of Fresh Monkey with hydro dipping, tape craft and delicious cocktails.

Monkey Shoulder broke the Scotch Whisky mould when it launched Original back in 2003 and has done it again with a truly ground-breaking liquid with Fresh Monkey. The new release offers the versatility of a light rum but with a delicate chocolatey and malty finish – which Monkey Shoulder is traditionally known for – this Blended Grain Spirit breaks new ground by combining the richness of classic malt notes with vibrant tropical flavours. Fresh Monkey joins the Monkey Shoulder range alongside Original and Smokey Monkey.

It launched on World Daiquiri Day, July 19th and will be available primarily in bars and venues across the country such as Ugly Butterfly in Cornwall, Callooh Callay in London, Hoot The Redeember in Edinburgh, and Lab 22 in Cardiff, recently voted the best cocktail bar in the UK by The Top 50. Consumers can also purchase a bottle from Amazon.

To help people test Fresh Monkey’s limits as a new spirit, Monkey Shoulder partnered with some of the UK’s top bartenders to create a cocktail book, showcasing its versatility with a range of delicious cocktails you can sample in-bar or perfect to recreate at home. The blended spirit adds character to sunny cocktails like mojitos and piña coladas, and can also be enjoyed in a simple daiquiri, or with cola and an orange wedge.
