REVIEW: STUDIO KITCHEN

K West Hotel and Spa is tucked away down a quiet street in Shepherd’s Bush and its one of those places where you have to be in the know… pulling in a lot of arts and media type people. It has a modern, stylish decor with a nice laid-back vibe.

We went to Studio Kitchen in the hotel, it’s a small restaurant, but it has a nice cosy, modern and casual feel to it. The menu consists of modern dishes, we went for the Braised Lamb Shank, which came with suet dumping, red onion chutney and rosemary Jus. The lamb shanked was cooked to perfection, incredibly tender with a lot of flavour. The other main dish was a Prawn Linguine, which came with a generous amount of prawns, bursting with flavour.

The dishes are of a good size although we couldn’t not try the sides, we opted for the broccoli with almond crumbs and clotted cream spinach. The desert menu consisted of a good range of deserts, we went for the chocolate fondant with cookie crumb and vanilla ice cream and I’m happy to say it was a ‘melt in your mouth’ desert! One of the best chocolate fondants I have tasted in London, and thats a big statement!

As the evening went on, we were persuaded to hit the bar downstairs, well to be honest we didn’t need much persuasion, we could hear the buzz from the downstairs bar, filled with people and great music.

Although its an upmarket hotel the prices are not the usual expensive hotel prices, they are reasonable, which is certainly a plus in our books. We will be back, if only for the Chocolate fondant!
