LONDON CREATIVE: Rosie Hart

This week we caught up with Rosie Hart, Director of Community at WeWork.

  1. ROSIE, TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF?

With two years of retail management under my belt, I joined WeWork as a Community Lead in July 2015 when we had just three locations in the UK. Jump forward to now and I’m one of the two directors managing our community teams who run our buildings across London. In and outside of work, you’ll never find me too far away from petting a dog. We’re dog-friendly in all our UK locations and it’s likely I’ve met each one! I also enjoy yoga, spending time in the markets around East London and checking out a cool pop-up at one of our buildings on my way home from work, like a fun workshop or book event.

  1. WHAT DOES A DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY AT WEWORK ENTAIL?

I manage the incredible community teams who run eight of our buildings across City & East London, and will soon add our newly announced Manchester building to my portfolio. I’m really excited for this as it’s our first location within the UK outside of London. My role is primarily supporting the teams with day-to-day operations as well as communicating any relevant information effectively from our HQ.

  1. WHAT DO YOU MOST ENJOY ABOUT YOUR JOB?

When I started, we had just three buildings that were fully open and operating in London – we now have 17 open and 10 more announced. I absolutely love working with people, whether that be supporting my community teams or growing and nurturing our member’s business growth. My daily schedule is revolved around connecting with others.

  1. WHAT EXCITING THINGS CAN EXPECT IN THE NEAR FUTURE?

We’re opening buildings almost every month from now until the end of next year. We doubled in the last year and will do the same again next year. As well as our exciting news about Manchester, we have also announced that we’re heading to Dublin, Ireland in which we’re hoping to expand further.

  1. BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN?

“You’re only as strong as the team who supports you”. One of WeWork’s core values is ‘Together’ and that sticks with me as we really do leave our titles at the door and work as a team for our common goal. What I find most rewarding is seeing my team grow, develop and support one another.

  1. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOUIRTE HANGOUT SPOTS IN LONDON?

In all honesty, our Tower Bridge building is hard to beat when it comes to views of the City! We organise so many events at our different locations that I always find myself getting caught in one before heading home. Whether it’s a networking event or workshop, author series or yoga class, there’s always something going on.

  1. WHAT WOULD YOUR IDEAL SUNDAY IN LONDON BE LIKE?

I love going to a Vinyasa Yoga class in the morning, then strolling down to Columbia Road Flower Market and grabbing a few flowers/plants for my little flat. Sunday lunch would have to be a roast with my best pals.
