For the first time, Katy Davidson, more commonly known as the ‘The Oyster Lady’, will be holding a unique oyster masterclass where amateurs and professionals alike can partake in a full ‘Ostrelier’ course within Mayfair’s finest Italian restaurant, Bocconcino.
Held on Monday, 2nd March between 2-6pm, ‘The Oyster Lady’ will educate guests on the wonderful world of oysters whilst teaching them to shuck like a pro. Throughout the hands-on masterclass, guests will enjoy learning professional shucking techniques, an introduction to oyster mixology, oyster and drink pairing, oyster appellations, raw and cooked recipes, and a how best to serve and share these intriguing bivalves.
This fully interactive class will include expert demonstrations and tastings all whilst enjoying the sumptuous setting of Boccconcino. Attendees will not only take home a quality wooden handled oyster knife, they will become members of Katy’s Social Enterprise, The Oyster Academy and listed as having completed the ‘Ostrelier Level 1 – An introduction’ which will equip them to shuck oysters professionally and have the knowledge to run an oyster bar, or just enjoy them more often at home. Their membership will entitle them to offers from TOA partners and early access to news and events.
