World Raki Week 2023

London gets in the spirit for World Raki Week by Yeni Raki, hosting a series of exclusive culinary adventures across the capital.
Yeni Raki, the proud host of World Raki Week, has unveiled a week-long calendar of events across the capital to bring the spirit of Türkiye to the UK. Curated by a selection of renowned food and drink experts, including the Evening Standard’s Douglas Blyde and National Geographic’s Berkok Yüksel, these bespoke celebrations will explore Turkish culture and traditions with unique twists.

The festivities commence at Hoxton’s TT Liquor, with the week-long programme designed to guide both raki connoisseurs and newcomers on a voyage across the land where East meets West.

Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th December: 15 cocktail lovers per day can experience a Yeni Raki mixology class in TT Liquor’s bespoke mixology rooms. Lucky customers will create signature Yeni Raki cocktails and embark on a learning experience that promises to be a feast for all the senses. Thursday 7th December will see Yeni Raki collaborate with National Geographic’s Berkok Yüksel. Hosted at Dükkan in London’s vibrant East End, guests at this unique ‘Breaking Traditions’ party  will experience traditional British classics with quirky Turkish twists. Enjoy innovative interpretations of a lively pub quiz, old-school activities and culinary-themed surprises at this fun-filled evening designed for the adventurous.

Friday 8th December the spotlight turns to a sophisticated soirée hosted by the Evening Standard’s Food & Drink Expert, Douglas Blyde. This intimate event at lead venue Rüya will host 20 raki enthusiasts, featuring a specially-prepared menu in collaboration with Rüya’s renowned head chef Halit Deniz and music curated by Debora Ipekel of the Michelin-starred Arkestra. Witness the culinary artistry of Halit Deniz as he crafts a ‘pide’ boat, sharing his pride in showcasing Turkish culture in the heart of Mayfair. Immerse yourself in the rich history of raki with Yeni Raki’s global expert and enjoy tales from Douglas Blyde as you traverse the country’s culture with one of the industry’s most respected journalists. Saturday 9th December World Raki Week by Yeni Raki will end with a bang at the Breaking Traditions Closing Party, hosted by National Geographic’s Berkok Yüksel.
