Croft Twist Review

Croft Twist - Print Asset v2 2206

This week in London the weather has been pretty damn good and summer seems to be making a come back. It seemed the perfect time to sit in the backyard with my laptop and sample Croft Twist with Elderflower, Lemon and Mint. Croft Twist was inspired by a refreshing long drink enjoyed in the Spanish town fairs (ferias) where Fino is mixed with lemonade or Casera in large jugs laden with ice and fresh mint. In Spanish this drink is called a ‘rebujito’. The ‘twist’ of this drink is that the traditional Lemonade is replaced with crafted Belvoir cordials and sparkling water.

I was pleasantly surprised by this drink as I’ve often found that wines with flavoured cordials can be somewhat sickeningly sweet. This definitely was not the case with Croft Twist and I found it to be quite refreshing. It reminds me of white wine spritzers that are easily enjoyed on a summer’s day. Light, fruity and sweet. It tasted even better when served with a few leaves of basil and a twist of lemon peel. It really brought out the flavours in the drink. If only I had a mint to go with it, that would have been the cherry on top.

Want to try Croft Twist for yourself? Well Croft Twist Elderflower, Lemon & Mint Croft can be puchased from Ocado and Waitrose for RRP £7.49. Absolute bargain and at just 5.5% in alcohol it’s a drink that won’t leave you with a hangover.
