Island Grill review

Did someone say indulge in an amazing brunch on the weekend while overlooking Hyde Park? Then look no further Island Grill has you covered!

The Hyde Park Royal Lancaster ‘Island Grill’ provides their diners with a dreamy and tranquil atmosphere, the decor is very elegant mostly set in neutral colours and the floor-to-ceiling windows are perfect for looking out at the beautiful view of Hyde Park.

I recently had the privilege to visit the Royal Lancaster ‘Island Grill’ an award-wining sustainable five-star restaurant that caters to all dietary requirements. I was so excited to taste their mouth-watering Brunch and I must say I found it hard to pick from all the great tasty options on the menu.

The Brunch is created by the in-house Island Grill head Chef Lasith and the team, it is available every Saturday and Sunday, from 12 – 4 pm, priced at only £19 for two courses, or £24 for three courses.

Brunch lovers will be spoilt for choice, with the extensive menu they have available.  They have poached organic eggs with a choice of Avocado or smoked Salmon, Waffles with either conflict duck and Bacon Jam or Banana and Nutella, and the tasty wild Mushrooms on sourdough Toast with Apple Balsamic and Wild Garlic, just to name a few.

For the grilled options be ready to dive into a great piece of Loch Duart Salmon with Crab Crushed Potatoes; a sumptuous 180g Rump Steak served with Triple and Braised Fennel and Shellfish Bisque Cooked Chips and Peppercorn Sauce.

Roast lovers, be sure to visit on a Sunday, where Island Grill offers a range of Slow Roasted Seasonal Organic Meats, all served with Roasted Cornish New Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables.

If you have a sweet tooth as I do, Island Grill has a great selection of desserts to pick from such as Ice Cream Sundae filled with Brownie; Nutmeg and Custard Tart with Raspberry Ripple Ice Cream, Dark Chocolate Brownie with Raspberry Sorbet (v) and Vanilla Cream and Cherries. Brunch lovers, you can also treat yourself to free-flowing sparkling wine for just a £19.50, over a 2-hour duration. There is also a range of in-house cocktails such as Espresso Martini’s and Champagne Sour’s and a range of coffee and delicately-blended teas for those who would prefer a lighter brunch.

Island Grill also has a little treat for those who have little ones, kids under 5 eat for free with the ‘Little Honey Bee’ menu which includes Shipton Mill Organic Pizza; Macaroni and Cheese with Broccoli and Carrots; and for dessert, they have Fruit Sorbet, or an Ice Cream Sundae with Chocolate Brownie and Whipped Vanilla Cream.

If you are a Londoner or a visitor, Island Grill is the perfect brunch destination, plating up delicious meals and offering gorgeous views over Hyde Park.
