Clockjack Oven – New Menu

Clockjack Oven 3 Clockjack Oven is a rotisserie chicken restaurant and take-away seconds from Piccadilly Circus. I attended their drinks do to mark their new menu and direction they are taking.

Whilst talking to the owner Fraser Duncan, I was impressed by their bold new direction. The majority of their menu is new and they are launching a salad express counter from 12:00-16:00 each day for good-quality food on the go. The new menu is tailored for the summer, with picnic hampers also available to purchase.

They have broadly increased their range of drinks, with a large selection of craft beers. They have a different beer from each corner of London. They also avoid the obvious choices of wines and ciders, with customers offered the chance to try more interesting wines and ciders from around the world.

I was interested to hear about the technology involved in marinating and keeping the chicken succulent. All chickens are free range, ethically reared and sourced from a region in Brittany. I really got a sense of the passion and quality from the owners and serving staff.

Takeaway BoxThe staple of their menu are their quarter, half or whole chickens. In addition to this are a range of burgers, nibble options and tasty desserts. I tried lots of the chicken bites and mini burgers, which all hit the spot nicely. The food is a nice simple option, and is devoid of the pretension you often suffer in London restaurants. Clockjack Oven has a relaxed feel and it’s a good place to have a relaxed meal and some interesting drinks.

They will also show all World Cup games.

Have a look at their website or Twitter page here to look at the menus.
