Crosstown’s limited edition Tim Tam and Lamnut doughnuts return for ANZAC Day
ANZAC Day is the national day of remembrance for Australia and New Zealand, which recognises, celebrates, and commemorates those who served their country. The week commencing the 19th April will see the return of Crosstown’s much-loved classics: The Tim Tam and Lamington doughnuts. As an Aussie, I was very excited to receive a box of these! Flashbacks of being back home came as soon as I opened the box. It was a dream come true!
Tim Tam: The Crosstown Tim Tam doughnut features Crosstown’s cocoa sourdough, filled with a chocolate custard made from Tim Tams shipped straight from Aussie shores. Topped with a Tim Tam milk chocolate ganache and chopped Tim Tam pieces.
Tim Tam is made by the Australian biscuit company Arnott’s. It consists of two crunchy biscuits separated by a smooth chocolate cream filling and coated in a thin layer of textured chocolate. It is 100 times better than a penguin so let’s get that straight! The Tim Tam doughnuts didn’t last long in the house as my house mate and I devoured them.
The Lamnut: The beloved lamington doughnut (aka the Lamnut) reimagines a classic lamington in Crosstown doughnut form. Featuring Crosstown cake dough with a layer of homemade raspberry jam through the middle, dipped in dark chocolate and rolled in desiccated coconut.
“Antipodean culture is in Crosstown’s DNA. We’ve shipped in a mountain of ingredients for these fan-favourite doughnuts, ready to give our fellow Aussies and Kiwis a taste of home during the ANZAC Day commemorations. The Anzac Day flavours will be available exclusively across Crosstown’s London and Cambridge stores, individually (£4.50) or as a pack of six and twelve (£22/38) from the 19th – 25th April. Customers in the rest of England, Wales and Lowland Scotland will also be able to order a mixed six or twelve pack of Lamington and classic Dark Chocolate Truffle doughnuts (£27.50/£48).
Both flavours have a history of selling out in record time, pre-orders are advised to avoid missing out. You will regret it if you do. They’re amazing.
