TKTKM Freaks_LR (2)The Knife That Killed Me, an innovative, British feature film shot entirely on green screen, will premiere on 15th July across the country.

The film, produced by Green Screen Productions, will premiere for free at 3 unique venues; Frank’s Café, London; The Museum of Science and Industry, Manchester and The National Media Museum, Bradford, where there will be a live Q&A panel. The film will also be streamed to a global audience, with the event’s organisers encouraging people who can’t make the screenings to create their own screenings in unusual settings. Tweet pictures of your screening venues to them on Twitter here.

This ‘Multiplatform Premiere’ has been made possible by a successful Kickstarter campaign, in which they raised £20,094 from 283 backers. The Knife That Killed Me will also have a nationwide, theatrical release in select venues in August. Universal Pictures UK will release the film on DVD and Video-On-Demand in September.

TKTKM Poster low res (2)The film is based on Anthony McGowan’s best-selling novel, and tells the story of a teenager who reflects on the events that led to his murder. The lead is played by Jack McMullen, (Waterloo Road, Brookside, Seamonsters) and the film was shot entirely on green screen, giving The Knife That Killed Me a striking and distinctive visual style.

Marcus Romer and Kit Monkman have adapted the novel and co-directed the film.

“We’re humbled by the terrific support The Knife That Killed Me has received to reach its goal on Kickstarter,” said Kit Monkman. “Technology is changing the way films are shared with audiences and we wanted to think creatively about a way to embrace this. Creating this one moment where the film is available to people online for free and across unique venues in the UK is an unconventional approach that we’re very excited about.”

Londoners, head down to Frank’s Café, Peckham on Tuesday 15th July for a unique cinematic event. Join the Facebook page here to reserve your free tickets to the event, which are quickly being snapped up.
