PlayStation 4 Frantics Review

Frantics is a new fun filled addition to the unique PlayLink range exclusive to PS4. PlayLink is all about social gaming everyone can enjoy. PlayLink gives every person the opportunity to join in the fun, ditching traditional controllers for a controller everyone carries around in their pocket every day. Yes, all you need is a mobile phone and you got yourself a controller. It’s that simple. There is no longer a need to go and fork out the money on extra controllers.

Frantics is a whacky new party game that is fun for all ages and would be a fantastic addition to any social get together with family and/or friends. Up to 4 players can participate in a range of mini games with everything from frenetic action arena brawls to strategic turn based competitions. The controls on the phone are simple and utilise the movements people use on their phone everyday – tap, swipe, tilt etc. Get some drinks involved and the whole evening can become one big competition full of laughs.

Fox is your host for the game and generally just provides some witty banter. But a notable feature is Fox can provide individual players with a devious secret mission via a phone call and text. You can also sabotage other players to even the odds, with freeze rays and rockets if your eliminated early or just target an individual during gameplay. This provides a competitive atmosphere which everyone gets drawn into.

Playstation UK hosted the party at MEATmission to celebrate the release of Frantics. Burgers, wings, fries beer and gaming are the perfect combination if you ask me. Whatever the burger, this place provides it. Everything from mega beef burgers to unique chicken burger combos and even a couple of vegetarian and vegan options. One of my favourite foods to enjoy is buffalo wings with blue cheese dip. MEATmission provide this amazing flavour on their Buffalo Chicken Burger. Containing a chicken fillet drowned in buffalo sauce with lettuce and onion topped with blue cheese sauce. It got better (and messier) with every bite. I also recommend the Deep-Fried Mac’N’Cheese as a delicious snack on the side. For the food challenge fans out there, you can test your consumption skills against the Triple Chili Challenge. Three dishes to complete in under 10 minutes – Green Chili Cheeseburger; Chili Dog; and Chili Cheese Fries. If successful your meal is free.

MEATmission also provide an extensive drinks menu ranging from punchy cocktails and shots to your more traditional craft beers and wine. Another unique range are the shakes and floats which provide both non-alcoholic and alcoholic options for the kids and kids at heart respectively.

For any owner of a PS4, I recommend purchasing Frantics as a great game to pull out for any social event you are hosting. Whether you are an experienced gamer or never picked up a controller before, Frantics levels the playing field and makes it enjoyable for all. Frantics is available via digital download on the PS Store or can be physically purchased from any participating retail outlet. The PlayLink app can be downloaded from both Google Play and the App Store. So, get those phones out and join the party. This simple and competitive title will have you challenging your friends and family all night long for the coveted crown.
