La Belle Assiette is what one would call a dream service and I’ll tell you why…You can host a dinner party, get all your favourite people over, crack open a bottle of bubbly and not have to lift a finger in the kitchen.

Want to hear more? I’m happy to spill.

La Belle Assiette offers an array of top quality chefs, to come and cook for you and your guests at your home. Which means a stress free night with great company and delicious food. Last week we welcomed chef Alex Sarrion into the house, he got there an hour and a half early to prep the food before the guests arrived. The menu was emailed to me by La Belle Assiette a week beforehand, which was great as I had the opportunity to send it to my guests to check they were okay with the dishes on offer. We had decided that baby deer wasn’t a good fit for everyone, so our chef kindly changed the baby deer to chicken without a fuss. One of the great things about La Belle Assiette, they take on board all your wants and dietary requirements for your desired menu.

We started off with warm bread, a tomato tartare and avocado cannelloni stuffed with prawns. The creamy avocado and shellfish was paired nicely in terms of flavour and texture. It was a fresh, light and a tasty dish to get us ready for our main.

As the main arrived we were all excited to hear what was presented in front of us, our chef explained how slowly the chicken had been cooked, to ensure we were given the perfect poached chicken breast. It was combined perfectly with a crunchy popcorn & shallot crust and a flavoursome pumpkin purée with cooked to perfection sprout tops. It was a melt in your mouth dish, and a real winner with all the girls, who mmmmm’d and aaaaahhh’d in unison. Safe to say this was the quietest I had seen them all evening, as everyone tucked in.

Dessert was met with further noises and nods of agreed approval. Baked pear and raisins with a ginger sauce and ginger and honey ice cream. The right amount of sweet, spice and kick!

The icing on the cake had to be the ‘no washing up’ the chef caters to that while you are wining and dinning your guests and if you fear you may not have matching plates and enough cutlery for your dinner party, you need not worry, the chef accommodates for that too and brings all the dinnerwear required.

We asked the chef, Alex to join us at the end, so that we could show our appreciation with a standing ovation! From start to finish the evening was fun but also really relaxing. I love having dinner with my friends at home but there is a lot of planning, shopping, prepping and of course cooking to be done when cooking for 6. Having Alex do all the hard work meant that I could relax and hang out with my friends properly…with no washing up at the end! Needless to say I now have La Belle Assiette number stored firmly in my phone.
