The Hawk’s Nest Review

A couple of weeks ago we visited The Hawk’s Nest, London’s newest outdoor street food dining space in Shepherd’s Bush. It was seriously one of the best nights I have had in a long time, not only were ONIN.London treated to great food, delicious drinks, amazing service but I got to spend the night with two friends who never fail to make me laugh and feel special.

The bar has 120 seated, socially distanced outdoor spots and is an awesome new space which haven’t stopped talking about since I went. Situated in a converted railway arch & goods yard, it is a great outdoor space for when England’s weather is cooperating. Though there were heaters and covers for when it isn’t.

The venue is the first from Bird House London, which is run by Wil Fuller of Soho House Group and Frazer Timmerman, who oversaw the food and drinks offering for Incipio Group, the company behind cult street food dining favourite Pergola.

We started with a couple of cocktails including a frozen chilli margarita and a blood orange margarita which went down way too easily… and probably why we stayed until close. The cocktails and the vibe was just too perfect for the last warm day of summer. I mean the Strawberry Daiquiri I had later on the night took me back to summer nights on a cruise ship. With one sip I was transported there and it was fabulous.

We started on some arancini and calamari with their matching sauces from Italian Street Food specialists, SUGO.They were seriously yummy but it was the A Gozney pizza oven in a converted shipping container which is the star of the entire venue as the chefs use it to offer a unique menu of stonebaked sourdough pizzas. I went with the absolutely amazing delicious Parma Ham & broccoli  pizza… Now if someone had mentioned broccoli on pizza to me I would have pulled a face similar to that of Disgust in ‘Inside Out’ but Oh My God, it was a life changer! I will make a confession, I did spend the following week trying to re-create this amazing pizza and I’m pretty sure I succeeded. The creamy garlic sauce on this pizza was HEAVEN! There’s no other way for me to describe it.

The Hawks Nest will have a a weekly programme of live music with jazz nights and DJs spinning tunes into the night and quiz nights. A super fun experience I’m sure we are going to attend soon.

The Hawks Nest are offering any pizza and a house drink for £10 Monday to Thursday 4-7pm and Friday to Sunday 12-4pm. So if you’re like me and love a bargain this is the perfect place to visit. Thanks for having us The Hawks Nest, we will be back!
