Winter Skin

Woman Receiving Spa Treatment

I’d like to believe that there is someone else who is incredibly happy with the cold winds that have made their way back into the weather forecast. However, the downside of the Shakespearean like weather is the havoc it causes on our skin. (This is where you wail desperation) Fear not, with the guidance of a mother with the most beautiful skin I’ve ever known, I have a few tips and tricks to get us all through this winter.

1.     The most obvious one, consumption of good ol’ H20. Now of course to some (like me) it would be pretty unrealistic to remember to drink a litre a day, so instead:

One cup when you wake up

Make sure to drink a least one cup for every meal you have

One cup before you go to bed

(1+3+1 = 5… close enough.)

2.     Take a break from makeup. SHOCK HORROR DEATH, I know, but give your face a day or two of just pure freedom. It will help stabilise the chemical balance and reduce the clogging of your pores. Just allow your skin to breathe, and don’t worry, the winds will give you a natural blush.

3.     Make oranges and sweet peppers your BEST FRIENDS. They are high in vitamin C which will help even your skin tone (start now and by summer you’ll be looking like a Greek Goddess!) It also gives helps gives the skin its elasticity and strength. – start stocking up, I heard Asda has an offer on.

4.     As horrifying as it may sound, especially for those with oily skin, add some extra virgin oil to your moisturizer. All that natural moisture will keep your skin looking plump and feeling smoother than a baby’s bottom. I advise for you to do it at night, save the embarrassment of looking like an oily mess in public (been there)

You have now been educated. If these don’t work then I always recommend stacking up on hot chocolate, chicken nuggets, some Netflix and going into hibernation until mid-February.

Mmm, I might do that now
